Obituary of Giuseppina Romeo

Giuseppina "Giusa" Romeo 1932 - 2014 Giuseppina Romeo was born October 5, 1932 in Bovalino, Italy. She arrived in Cranbrook in November 1956 and then married Giuseppe Romeo. She worked hard to make a good life for her family. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and Nanni. Giusa was always kind, selfless, generous, good-hearted and made people feel welcome, and made sure they never left her home on an empty stomach. Giuseppina is predeceased by her husband Giuseppe "Joe". She is survived by her sons Bruno (Tina), Carlo (Rita), Joe Jr. (Patty) and daughter & best friend Cristina; as well as six grandchildren Josie (Steven), Joey, Joseph, Cristopher, Jessica and Ross. Giuseppina leaves behind her siblings Pasquale, Palma (Joe) and Bruno (Pina), their families and her relatives back in Italy. Prayers with a slideshow to follow for Giuseppina will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 7:00 pm at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook. Her funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 1:30 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cranbrook. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honour of Giuseppina can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 19 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2L9 or the: Canadian Liver Foundation, BC/Yukon Regional Chapter, 109, 828 - West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 1E2.
