Dwayne, you were one of my first playmates. I remember as a little girl how much I idolized you and how much of a pest you thought I was (lol). Always cherished will be the picture of you and Grandma Ball and me and on the back she wrote "Dwayne and Anita getting along for a few minutes". In truth you were pretty good at letting me tag along with you. I remember when we were on the farm and you took me to see the pigs, I thought they were horrible disgusting creatures and you laughed and laughed. As I got older we were a trio, you and Larry and me. Although once again I kind of pushed myself in, but you guys were great with me - after testing me by telling me the only way to get uptown Golden was to walk on the train trestle, I was 11 and fell for it. We had lots of good times as kids and later as teens. When my boys were born you were so good with them. You had a natural ability with kids. I am sorry that we drifted apart but so happy that we reconnected a couple of years ago, were able to share memories and be each others sounding board. I feel blessed that thanks to Iris I got to spend a lovely afternoon with you a couple of years ago. The afternoon included visiting the cemetery and it gave me peace to feel reconnected in some small part with Larry and my Aunt and Uncle again. I am so glad that you were beginning to be happier once you moved to the apartment, but sad that you never got to see the ramp completed. A lady from We Care called me the other day, she told me how much they liked you. I also heard that from the advocate, can't recall his name, when you were working on getting into an apartment. He told me how much the other clients and staff liked you. I have a shed a lot of tears this week and I know you would tell me to quit crying but sometimes tears are necessary. You would be so proud of Leona, she is doing an amazing job at arranging your service. In her words "He is my big brother..." One thing I am so proud of is that you and I never sent an e-mail to each other without "Take Care and I love you" There were days last winter when you were the only person I heard from for days and you were my constant cheerleader. Thank you. Take Care. Love Anita P.S. when you meet Grandma in heaven please don't pull her apron strings.
