Please share a memory of Douglas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

December 20, 1935 - June 3, 2011

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the fairly sudden passing of Douglas Campbell on June 3, 2011 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital with family at his side.

Doug was born in Blutcher, Saskatchewan, and spent his early years in the Saskatoon area. He married Mary Cronkite in 1957 and they had 5 children. They moved to Cranbrook in 1969 where he worked as Parts Manager for several heavy duty companies. Doug loved all aspects of sports and did his share of curling, baseball, hockey and golf during the years. Doug was a quiet man with a great sense of humour and a quick wit. He had a very mathematical mind and loved working with wood. For the past 16 years Doug thoroughly enjoyed spending his winters in Arizona.

Left to mourn his passing are his best friend and companion of 16 years, Dorothy Hinton; his 3 sons: Jeffery, Gord (Debbie) & Chris; his 2 brothers: Fred (Lilly) & Ray (Edith); 1 sister: Diane; his 6 wonderful granddaughters: Jessica (Alan), Chelsea, Karli, Rachael, Kaitlynn & Sydney; 1 great grandson: Kohen; and many nieces, nephews, good friends and golf buddies.

Doug was predeceased by his parents, James & Alice, his wife, Mary (1992), son, Bradley (1962), daughter, Tracey (1987), brothers Jim & John, sisters Arlene, Dorothy, & Audrey.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Doug on Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 at the Willowbrook Recreation Hall from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to: The Canadian Diabetes Assoc., 1589 - Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, British Columbia, V1Y 5Y7 or made online at www.diabetes.ca.
