1926 - 2011

With much sadness, the family wishes to announce the passing of Elizabeth "Betty" Reeve on Thursday, June 16, 2011. Born in Whitehaven, England on October 22, 1926, she later immigrated to Canada in 1957 with her husband and eldest daughter.

We were very blessed to have a wife, mum and grandma like her. Her family was her greatest love, joy and devotion.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Tom; her children Helen Wright and sons Brett, Shaun and Bryan; David (Anna-Lisa) Reeve and Jennifer (Ken) Namislo and children Steven and Kaylin.

A homemaker her whole life, her family and friends were always showered with her baking and much loved sausage rolls (but you had to get on the 'list' to get them).

Mum was a dedicated Eagle member and enjoyed spending time with her friends volunteering at functions. You could always count on her to help out.

Within her keepsakes, this found clipping of a poem summarized her thoughts:

Don't grieve for me, now I'm free.

I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took his hand when I heard the call.

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way.

I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.

As yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.

My life's been full, I savoured much.

Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.

Don't lengthen it with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me.

God wanted me now, he set me free.

Mum, we miss you and will cherish our memories together forever.

Love your family.

As per the request of mum and dad, a private service will be held for the immediate family.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
