1922 - 2011
It is with great sorrow that the family of Jean Isabelle Cummings announces her passing on July 12, 2011 at 89 years of age in Cranbrook, British Columbia.
Jean was born on May 6, 1922 in McAdam, New Brunswick. Jean lived the best part of her life in Canterbury, New Brunswick where she and her husband raised their son David and enjoyed many happy years together. She especially enjoyed summers at the family cottage at Skiff Lake. In 2003 at the "young" age of 81 Jean moved across Canada to reside in Jaffray, British Columbia to be close to her son David. She made many new friends and became active in her church and seniors centre.
Jean was a doting wife, mother and grandmother. She was a faithful friend and a gentle soul. We will miss her smile, her hearty laugh and her sweet spirit.
Jean is survived by her son David (Bev) Cummings, grandchildren Tracey (Jay) Chesley and Joel Cummings, step-grandchildren Sherianne Street and Adam Regnier, great granddaughter Elizabeth Chesley and great grandsons Brant and Colby Street. She was predeceased by her husband Conrad Cummings, her parents Gordon and Olive Johnston, sisters Ruth Hannah, Pauline Esterbrooks and Sandra Cook.
A memorial service for Jean will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 2:00 pm at The South Country Christian Fellowship in Jaffray, British Columbia. Her Interment will be in the Canterbury Cemetery in Canterbury, New Brunswick.
