Obituary of Thomas Douglas Hooles

June 02, 1957 - July 07, 2011

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Douglas Hooles, of Kimberley, B.C., who passed away on Thursday July 7, 2011.

Tom was born in Montreal on June 02, 1957. He moved to Kimberley in 1977. Tom worked for Al Silver as a bricklayer for 11 years. He also worked for Cominco. He later found out he was a natural born Taxi Driver, where he worked for L&K Taxi for the remainder of his working years. He loved his job.

Tom enjoyed volunteering at the Kimberley Heritage Museum. He loved spending time with his children watching them grow into fine young men. He also loved visiting with his many great friends and neighbors. Tom will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Tom was predeceased by his father, George William Hooles, mother Dorthy Dominick, brother Douglas "Buster" Hooles and his nephews Matthew Hooles, and Jonathan Hooles.

Left to mourn his passing are his sons Christopher and Justin, brothers Bruce "Howdie" (Zowe), Garry (Mollee), Jean Paul, and sister Linda, Kim and Shawn Beattie and children, Kevin, Kaileigh, & Jacob, and Jim and Lil Ratcliffe.

A memorial service for Tom will be held at the Kimberley United Church on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his honour to the: British Columbia Lung Association, 2675 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC, V64 2K2.
