I had the pleasure of knowing Brett for the better part of 20 years. I was introduced to him through my brother Louis. We hung out and over the years had a pretty close relationship. Lots of talks about our lives and what we wanted to do in life. He had come to my house not long before I was called about the sad news. It felt like old times as Brett, Lou, and I talked and laughed around. My heart hurts for his family and other friends that have lost a great person. R.I.P. my friend.

My heart goes out to his family and specially his beautiful daughter (mak) I seen Brett all the time, and in the last month his main goal was trying to get his life back in order for himself but first and far-most his daughter anytime I seen him he was always talking about her and how much he loves her. So this memory is for his daughter " your daddy loves you mak and you were really the only thing on his mind all day, everyday. Much love to the family Brett was a good friend of mind and will sadly be missed, to young to go!!!! Xo

I had the pleasure of knowing Brett when our family lived in Cranbrook in the early 90's. He was friends with my son Louis and throughout the years, they kept in touch with each other. About a month ago, Brett spent a few days at our home here in Creston. He was so proud of his daughter and was looking forward to her spending weekends with him. I will always remember Brett for his kindness, thoughtfulness and especially being a proud Dad. He was so polite. Our prayers to his family. Brett, you will forever be our hearts.

The happiest I ever heard Brett was the day he called me to announce he was going to be a Dad. I swear this was the proudest moment of his life. From this day forward he would send me pictures after every milestone of hers, or if he just wanted to share her contagious smile. To this day he is the proudest dad I know. I guarantee each day he will be looking over her and making sure to guide her in the right path.
Make sure to throw those pallets on the fire at the NPA for when we all meet together again. We will have a cases of Old E's ready to try and break over Ron Wulff's thick head. LOL
We all miss you terribly Brett. Love you bro.
Sincerely,
Johan Oele

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time in your lives. I'm incredibly sorry for the loss and Brett was a good friend with a great ear to listen to anyone's hardships and a big huge heart to help anywhere he could. I will miss him dearly and feel blessed and grateful that I got to know him for the real person he was and he was truly a great friend to have. If there is anything that the family needs or if any help is needed for anything at all please don't hesitate to get ahold of me, id be honored if I could help out in any way possible. Be free from all your struggles now Brett and I will never forget you or the last time we got to hang out , I know how great you were doing and I believed in you and I'm so sad this happened to you especially when you were really trying to fight this time, you were glowing and so proud and I was so proud of you too and its just not fair. Ill miss you and Ill see you again one day my friend xoxo
