Obituary of Gordon John English

Gordon John English May 16, 1965 - July 10, 2015 Gordon John English beloved husband of Pauline Artifacet and father to Avalon Nascimento, Nolan Nascimento and Jessica English will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Gord passed away on Friday, July 10th, 2015 and is also survived by his brothers Jim, Dave and Bruce English. Those who knew him, knew that Gord had a kind heart and was always willing to step up to help family and friends. In recent years he had begun to take great joy in organizing activities for and feeding those he cared about. He was affectionately known by his family as the 'safety bear' and was a great harmless prankster, loving nothing more than a good laugh. Gord loved to work with his hands and to operate heavy equipment. He spent most of his life in the construction trade and in recent years worked as a mine haul-truck driver for Teck Coal. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, kayaking, camping and tinkering on his classic vehicles, he also enjoyed watching wrestling and was a great lover of all types of music. Gord's favourite holiday was Halloween and every year he would pull out all the stops for the kids. He collected the macabre, prank toys, zombie movies, music and video games. While Gord's death was tragically early, he passed away on the water as he always wanted, while doing something he loved with the person he loved most in the whole world. May he look down on us and know that he was dearly, dearly loved. A Wake will be held in Gord's honour on Saturday, July 18th, 2015 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at the Legendary Byng Road House, 21 - Cranbrook Street North in Cranbrook (Ph: 250-426-4279). Attendees are invited to present a short memory in Celebration of his life.
