Obituary of Donald Calvert Miles

1933 - 2011

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Donald Calvert Miles announces his passing on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook at 78 years of age.

Don was born on February 23, 1933 in Kimberley, British Columbia. He leaves to mourn his passing his brother Ken Miles, his three step-sons Murray Grant, Randy Grant (Kay), Rick Grant (Jane), two foster children Rod Birdstone (Donna) and Anne Birdstone (Dave), along with eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering for family and friends will take place at Friendz Pub (in the Days Inn in Cranbrook) on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of Don may do so to the Blue Lake Forestry Education Society.
