July 27, 1929 - June 30, 2010

Theresa Margaret Viers passed away peacefully on June 30, 2010 the East Kootenay Regional Hospital surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle at the age of 80.

Theresa was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years Dalton "Bud" in 2004. She was also predeceased by her parents Mary and James Hustak; brothers William, Tony and James; and sisters Annie, Matilda, Emma, Edith, Florence, Mary and Rita. Theresa is survived by her sisters Elizabeth and Margaret. She will be dearly missed by her son Elvin (Kim) of Yorkton, Saskatchewan and daughter Valerie (David) Armstrong of Hosmer, British Columbia. Also to mourn her loss are five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Theresa was born in Bangor, Saskatchewan. Later she moved to Revelstoke and worked in Lena's cafe as a waitress where she met Bud, the love of her life, and they were married and moved to Twin Butte. From there Bud's job on the CPR moved them around the province many times, finally retiring in Cranbrook. Theresa was a member of the Catholic Woman's League (CWL) in Field, and the Cranbrook Senior Citizens and Railway Pensioners for years. She was an avid card player (always ready for a game) and loved going to bingo games and doing puzzles. Theresa was a great cook, made the best bread and was always baking her goodies. (She had to have something in case somebody stopped in). She also enjoyed sewing and doing her handy-crafts.

Rosary and Prayers for Theresa will be held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook at 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Her funeral mass will take place at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11:00 am.
