Obituary of Harold Cecil Tapp
Please share a memory of Harold to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
1921 - 2011
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Harold Cecil Tapp announces his passing on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 89 years of age. Bus will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and friends, especially Edie, the love of his life and wife of 65 years.
Bus was born on December 8, 1921 in Biggar, Saskatchewan. He was always a gentleman, and lived to help others, as evidenced by his history. As a young man, Bus served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Europe in WWII. Soon after returning to Canada he married Edith and moved to Kimberley, British Columbia. He was a proud supporter of the Credit Union and Dynamiters, and served on the Kimberley Ski Club Executive. He was an Alderman in Kimberley for many years, and a Director at the Regional District. Bus was a ball coach, Boy Scout Leader, United Church Elder, and a Mine Rescue Competitor. He loved his family and his community, and invested a lot in them. Bus enjoyed playing bridge, travelling, golfing and skiing, and recently going to Ice Games with Edie and trips to the casino.
Bus is survived by his loving wife Edith, son Randy (Kim Bombardier), daughter Jannice Caufield (Peter), grandchildren Sharai, Niki, Ryan and Teresa, and great granddaughter Veraca.
A memorial service for Bus will be held in the McPherson Funeral Chapel in Cranbrook on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 1:00 pm.
Bus will be remembered as a family man, proud to serve his community and his country, and as a really nice man and perfect gentleman.
Many thanks to Dr. Andreas, Dr. Niedemayer, the amazing staff on the third floor and others and friends who have been so helpful and loving during this time of the passing of our beloved Bus.
