Dorothy "Dot" Adelene Voigt passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Monday, October 5, 2015 in Cranbrook, BC. Dot was born on February 13, 1930 in Khedive, SK. She worked for the Leader Post newspaper in Regina and then for 25 years with Sears Canada, and after her retirement she worked for the Calgary Stampeders until 2003. Dot always had a great sense of humour; she cherished her family, and was loved dearly by all who knew her.
Dot is survived by her daughters Beverly (Ray) Mohammed of Calgary, Linda (Clive) Mealing of Cranbrook and Margaret (Dwight) Braaten of Calgary; her son Bruce (Phaedra) Voigt of Calgary; her brother Lawrence (Heather) Fellner of Weyburn, SK; her sister Florence Pachal of Cranbrook; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. Dot was predeceased by her loving husband, Mickey, of 49 years in 2001.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek Chapel - 14441 - Bannister Road SE in Calgary) on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 7:00 .m.
Dot's Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 - Acadia Drive SE in Calgary) on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 10:00 am. In living memory of Dorothy Voigt, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes.
