Drove me home to Windermere many nights from the Invermere Legion (police never stopped a vtow-truck) and one night he dropped me off at the house and as usual, waited until I gained my front porch by the light of the headlights, and as I got within about ten feet of my porch, this great big sow black bear reared up at me! Neeedless to say, I was back in the tow-truck in about 1.5 seconds!!!!! We waited a few minutes and lo and behold her cub showed up which would have been curtains for me!!! They eventually left but needless to say we had many a laugh for years after.! Howard Burns. Very sorry to learn of Tracey's passing.

Dear Faye and family, so sorry to hear of Tracy's passing. He led quite the life - so many wonderful tributes. I would have liked to have gotten to know him better. We did meet at the Salmon DInner at the Legion. It is so hard to lose your life partner. Sandy, my sister knows, We lost our mother a week ago and that was very difficult even though she was 92 and had a wonderful, full life. I got back too late to attend the memorial, but want you to know I'm thinking of you and know you will be surrounded and supported by your family and the friends from all aspects of your busy life including your golfing buddies. Thinking of you with sympathy.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss Faye. I played golf with Tracy last year and truly enjoyed him. You were such a caregiver to him, making sure he ate even though he didn't feel like it. I got a few chuckles out of that and so did he.
My mother passed on Dec. 30th and as you know my husband not that long ago so I think I know how you feel. I'll be thinking of you and if you ever need a shoulder I'm here.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Tracy,
I attended Radium car show this pass fall and got up early Saturday morning to gas up at the local Esso station in Radium. I asked the owner if she knew of Tracy. She told me that he now lived in Invermere and how I could possibly connect with him. I had good intensions to stop back this spring and make that connection.
I grew up in Calgary during the 1950's and was a track rat at the local stock Car Track "Spring Bank Speedway" All my hero's where the drivers of the those days including a young rockie driving a red (Nash powered) Nash coupe #33 with his dad as the mechanic.
The last time Tracy and I talked was in 1957 on the steps of his home on 26 Ave. and about 30 street SW Calgary. I was 10 years old and was talking with my hero and who know's what we talked about. I myself grew up as son of stock car driver, builder (Jack Landage #66) my dad, and we lived on 29 Street and 26 Ave SW. There must have been something in the water in that community as Len Erlam, Jim LeMoal, Ted Insinger all lived near by. Dad kept in touch with Tracy in the 70's 80's but lost track of him as the years went by.
My dad always said he was a great little driver as he and dad (car #66) were generally on top of the points competing for the local track championship.
All of childhood hero's are now gone, Goerge LeMay, Frank Janett, Len Erlam Ted Insinger, Jim Ward and many others from those days.
Upon reading about Tracy I went into the garage and 2 hours later I had my dad's old race car fired up as my tribute to my hero's.
I also lost my dad 3 1/2 years ago and know the sadness that comes with it.
Sincerely
Trevor Landage, Son of #66
