Obituary of Leonard William Aubichon

Please share a memory of Leonard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

1956 - 2013

On May 31, 2013, Leonard went home to be with the Great Spirit after a long battle with Kidney Cancer, at his home in Cranbrook, B.C., surrounded by family and friends at 56 years of age. Leonard was given only a few months to live yet he fought a courageous battle for over a year.

Leonard lived his life to the fullest. He was definitely his own man, was always entertaining, was often inspiring others and was loved by all who knew him. He was a loyal, honest, caring friend, a loving father, brother, uncle and grandfather. Leonard was a hardworking man and a jack of all trades who mastered many skills. He was a heavy equipment operator, a small motor mechanic, a horticulturist, and a garden designer who left many a footprint in many gardens, just to name a few. A survivalist and traveller, he hitchhiked everywhere he wanted to go.

Leonard was born in Beauval, Saskatchewan on October 5, 1956. He made his home in Penticton, Cranbrook, Taber and the Lethbridge area. He leaves behind 5 children, 9 grandchildren, 11 brothers and sisters, many adopted families who shared their hearts and homes with him, and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his mother, his father and two brothers. His father and one brother also had had Cancer.

Leonard did not want a funeral service. He wanted to be cremated and for everyone to celebrate his life, and not mourn; as he is now pain free. Anyone wishing to make a donation in his honour may do so to the: Canadian Cancer Society, 19 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2L9.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
