When Adara was in grade 7 I got to play with her. It was awesome rocking out with her to Kenny Chesney. She has great taste in music. I will always remember her and her big smiles when I hear him sing. Especially the song about a tractor. Oops maybe not school appropriate. Our favourite musical instrument was the rain stick. The day her lil sis took the slinky from her, she got the look for sure. Lil sis knew she had to give it back quick. Western week, she loved my horse and cowboy hat. We rocked those hats. The bunny was a big hit with Adara and the little sisters.

I remember when you pulled up in your van to bring Adara to one of Megan's birthday parties and all the girls started screaming "Adara's here!". The kids loved her, Megan said they would often fight over who got to push her wheelchair at recess. I loved reading to her when she was younger, and enjoyed how she would subtly change her ways of communication. She would often smile when the other kids came into the classroom. I know that every kid that knew Adara will never forget her. She was one of a kind.

I will cherish my memories of working with Adara from kindergarten to grade 4 at Steeples school. She was strong willed and had an amazing sense of humour.That twinkle in her eyes always told me she was laughing with me. Her favourite colour at that time was always purple, when given choices she would always reach or look at purple. I gather that red became her favorite colour as she got older. She stole a piece of my heart and will be sadly missed by many people. Vivien Statham
