Hello, I am looking at a scrapbook of my grandma's. In July 1941, she took a train trip with a group of women before she got married. I think Helen was my Grandma's companion on that trip. I have photos and other things in a scrapbook. Wow! I wish I had looked at this several years ago and had a chance to talk to Helen. She looks like she was such a fun loving woman! Gertrude Dill (Kulessa) from Belleville, Illinois passed away in 1986 after slipping on a piece of ice while feeding a stray cat. If I could go back in time!

My mother, Ethel Vigne and Aunt Sliver (Helen) were best friends through their lives. I was one of the more unusual "birthday presents" Mom ever gave her. We shared our birthdays. And Aunt Sliver gave us all such a treasure in Jayne. She was such a special friend when we were small.

Helen was in my life for as long as I can remember as she was one of my mother's best friends. After my mother (Theresa Quail) passed, Helen was not only a good friend, but I grew to trust as I did my own mother. George and I will miss her, but will never forget her loving spirit. We both send our prayers and strength for support during this time of loss. Our most heart felt condolences to Jayne, Steve, Amber and Sean.

With Helen being one of mom's best friends, the Fiedlers and the Schultzes share a long history together that kept the families connected to this day--despite our mother having passed away 27 years ago.
