Obituary of Arlin Ecker Reid

1927 - 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arlin Ecker Reid at the Joseph Creek Care Village on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the age of 84.

Arlin was born in Williamsdale, Nova Scotia on April 9, 1927. He was predeceased by his brother Howard, 1st wife Jessie, 2nd wife Pearl, son Gary, son Donnie and daughter Diane. Arlin is survived by his brothers Elden (Bertha), Percy (Alice), Wendel (Marg), sister Dolena (Carl), sister-in-law Winnie (Howard), son's John (Judy), Brian (Georgie) Barry (Tammy), Rick (Rose), Jack (Debbie), Kevin, Kenny, Greg (Diane), daughters Margaret (Jim), Sharon (Ken), Genevieve (Jim), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Arlin worked in Nova Scotia as a truck driver until 1965 when he moved his family to Cranbrook where he worked in construction until his retirement. Arlin enjoyed time with his family, camping, fishing and playing cards. His smile and gentleness will be missed by all. A memorial service for Arlin was held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook.
