Obituary of Leith Hampton

1944 - 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leith Hampton on Wednesday, March 7th, 2012.

Leith was born on September 4th, 1944. Leith moved to the East Kootenays in 1970. Since then, he has called Cranbrook and the East Kootenays his home. He enjoyed fishing, ATVing and camping. He loved every day that he got to spend in the outdoors, and was often heard saying, "not without my boat".

After a short battle with cancer, at the age of 67, Leith passed away at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. He is predeceased by his father Herbert and eldest brother Lloyd.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Shannon, mother Pearl, daughters: Tammy (Dave), Kim (Mike), grandchildren: Amanda, (Bart), Sean, Randy, Brandon, brothers: Tom (Joan), Glen (Linda), Don (Maurine) and sister: Bev (Ray). He touched the lives of so many. He will be missed forever; by all.

A service for Leith will be held at the Ft. Steele Cemetery on Tuesday, March 13th, 2012 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Leith can be made to the East Kootenay Foundation For Health, E.K.R.H. Palliative Care Unit, 13 - 24th Avenue North, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 3H9.
