Howard Pearson It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Howard Pearson at the age of 85. He peacefully passed away on August 24, 2016 at EKRH surrounded by family. Howard was born in Kimberley and resided in Kimberley for most of his life. He worked for Cominco until his retirement in 1989, and was a volunteer fireman for 25 years. Howie belonged to the Rocky Mountain Riding Club, an activity he participated in with his children. As well he loved to hunt up north with buddies and fish Kootenay Lake at the cabin. Howie, and his wife of 64 years Sheila, became snowbirds and spent their winters in California for twenty years. Wherever he was, if there was a golf course, he would be on it. In his later years he could be found in the green house trying to produce tomatoes that would outdo Brian's. Howie is survived by his wife Sheila, daughters Terry Harrison, Sandra Zaplitny (Terry) of Texas and Christie Caccavo (Enzo), sons Keith and Scott, grandchildren Dana and Julian Harrison, Brett and Loni Robertson, Carlie Pearson and Dakota Hoffman and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Anne Pearson, brother Jimmy, son Bruce, nephew Rick, and son-in-law Terry Robertson. A celebration of life will be held downstairs at the Western Lodge on September 10, 2016. Please join the family to celebrate with us between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm that day. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses who made Howie comfortable while in the hospital.
