Nadine Helen McInnis SSBB June 22, 1928 - August 23, 2016 Nadine Helen McInnis (nee Fleury) passed away peacefully at the age of 88 in Cranbrook, BC. She was predeceased by her husband John L. McInnis, son James McInnis, and parents Helen and Harvey Fleury. Nadine was born and raised in Rossland and moved to Nelson to complete grade 13, then began working at CIBC. She was transferred to Calgary and Vancouver which awoke her life-long passion for travel. Nadine enlisted in the R.C.A.F. and was soon fixing radios on Lancasters throughout eastern Canada, sporting her trademark blue toenails. She met and married "Jack" and they raised six children while moving about the country, finally settling in the lower mainland in 1966. Life became busier with Nadine's positions on Church, PTA, Brownie/Girl Guides, various charities, B.C. Sr. Games, and Meals on Wheels. She found herself co-owner with a lifelong group of friends running TeePee campgrounds - her shifts 'minding' the store were a delight as she bestowed free ice cream cones on her 'favorites'. Mom's endless love, support, and family get-togethers, are still much appreciated and cherished. Her joy of playing bridge grew as she played with friends, local clubs, oversaw Newcomers, and helped organize many international tournaments, all which led to her becoming a Life Master. Nadine is survived by her sister Yvonne Dubeau, brother Alf (Carmen) Fleury, her loving children Cathy (Brian) Harvey, Susan Bell, Julie Johnson, Linda Hannah, Lisa McInnis and Todd (Elizabeth) McInnis. Granny will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Monty Lilburn (Sara), Sarah Dixon (Tony), Christina Johnson (Kelly), Stephen Johnson, Matthew Hannah, Pamelin Olsen (Ryan), Miranda Harvey, Rebecca Harvey, and Colton McInnis; six great-grandchildren, five nephews, and their families. We send our deepest appreciation to the staff at the F.W. Green Home for their compassion, patience and care during the past few years. Heartfelt gratitude to McPherson Funeral Service for their compassion and assistance as we said goodbye. A family "Celebration of Life" was held on August 28, 2016. Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service. Condolences for the family can be offered at: www.mcphersonfh.com
