We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to George's family. My
daughter, Madison and I work at Quality Bakery in Invermere. We had the
pleasure of George being one of our regulars. Whenever he came in, he
brightened our day and always made us laugh. He spoke fondly of his
wife Shirley, whom we were told was named after Shirley Temple, and the
rest of his family. Being a newspaper man, George and I often talked
about the newspaper business. My in-laws owned the Valley Echo for
thirty years and my husband and I started up the Columbia Valley
Pioneer. If my daughter and I worked on the same shift, he always
called us the Ede Express. His favourite treat was a coconut ice bar.
He always made us smile and we will surely miss him. He was a true
gentleman and we know that your family will always have the memories of
what a great man he was.
Regards
Lisa and Madison Ede

Hello everyone. So sad to just arrive home from our trip to B.C and find that uncle George passed away less than 24 hours after we left.So grateful to have been just there to spend time with him ,Aunt Shirley and you guys.Know that our prayers and thought are with you at this time of great sorrow.Uncle George lived a great life full of adventures.I will always remember his great sense of humour. He was tickled pink when we last saw him and I commented on how he looked like Clint Eastwood and he said i wasn't the first one to say that!!Garey so enjoyed the great conversation he had with George over the last few years. We will surely miss him!Lots of love Connie and Garey.

Well George, there are not many in this world that had the determination and conviction that you had. We had some good times in the early days with the running of Rod & Gun Clubs and chasing the ever elusive Elk. Yes we sure had our differences when it came down to balistics but we sure new how to share the wine and that awfull ham you use to buy and we had for breakfast up at Riverside. Man that stuff had lots of grissle. We had some fantastic camping trips with our whole families, trips that we certainly will always remember. George, God Bless you and I just know you will find that Royal Bull Elk. To all of your great family, Emma & I pass on our codolences and a God Bless.
