i'm just seeing this wall now, and am very touched at the kind words people shared about my grandpa. it's almost been five years, and i miss him very much. a lot of my most cherished memories are about him: stealing donuts to feed his sweet tooth, listening to his grand tales of adventure, talking to him about the world. he had a great laugh, and was always patient and warm with his shy granddaughter. he made something as simple as choosing a lifesaver the most fun and the biggest treat. i feel very honoured to have known him and strive through my actions to make him proud.

My Wonderful Dad.... You were a man that any child could be proud of. You filled my heart with moments I will never forget. I thank you for the time you found in your very busy life to spend at the lacrosse box cheering me on, all the wonderful times we had at Tee-Pee and at the lake, our family vacations and long car rides when you would lead us all in sing-a-longs about little fishies or holes in buckets, you tought me to drive and always showed your interest in wherever my life was taking me at the moment... Your love of life was infectious and the accomplishments you achieved in just one man's lifetime are astounding to me. I am so glad that Colton was able to know you and thankfull of the times you could be here with us over the years. You will forever be his "Grandpa Busy Bee" (I can still hear your voice in my mind as your finger tip presses the end of his little boy nose) We will miss you always. XO XO XO

I love you Grandpa! I'll never forget how you always got the grandkids to sneak you extra desserts at BBQs, learning how to play chess, and of course your famous magic shows. You inspired me my whole life, and I am so proud to have had such an accomplished man as my Grandfather. You're always in my thoughts, miss you! xoxo

Dear Nadine,
Sorry for the loss of Uncle Jack. He brought fun to a lot of people's lives.
We'll always appreciate you travelling thousands of miles across the country to Sydney Nova Scotia and Jack doing us the honour of being the MC at our wedding.
We greatly enjoyed the too few times we were able to get together over the years. Sinead and Jacqueline still remember when they were litlle and Jack entertained them with magic tricks and taught them to balance spoons on their noses.
Our thoughts are with you and the family.
Love, Dan, Joan, Sinead and Jacqueline Dubeau

Dear Nadine: Can you sense that we are there sitting beside you on this sad day, for we are there in mind, if not in body? Lookingback on our years together, we feel so blessed to have shared the very special friendship that has endured for 57 years despite the miles between us. Today we send our love and hugs, thoughts and prayers to all of you. Joyce & Dave Thorne

Dear Nadine. I was very saddend to learn of Jake's passing and wanted to let you know and your wonderfully large and loving family know that I thought the world of Jake on both a personal and professional level. He was one of the most enthusiastic people that I ever met and was so committed to his family and to his work in post secondary education. I knew him as the Principal of the VVI and I knew him as the President of East Kootenay College and he helpd put both institutions on the provincial, national and international map. He especially fought hard for the trades programs and their place in the sun. I also knew Jake as a very involved community contributor who spent hundreds of volunteer hours on various important projects. I travelled with him to Asia and attended with him countless meetings concerning post secondary education in BC and always enjoyed his company and especially his great sense of humour. We are all the better for knowing him and I send you, Nadine, and your family and friends my most sincere condolences. We will certainly miss him but we will also have very fond memories. Most sincerely, Rich Johnston, Retired President, Malaspina University-College.
