I came to the house to hand quilt on Myrt's first quilt. She told such great stories as we sat around her quilt, and I will treasure that memory. I also worked on her quilt that she took to the Senior's this spring and always enjoyed her company.Myrt had such courage facing her illness, and I admired her for that. She will truly be missed! With sincere sympathy,Bev MacDonald

I can't help but smile when I think of Myrt, there was rarely a dull moment when she was around. I met her & Don a number of years ago because of our shared interest in genealogy. One of our more memorable visits was at our home in Three Hills. Myrt, Don & their grandson Tyler had come out from Calgary for an afternoon visit; it was in the summer on a very windy day. We were looking through old photos, family papers and such, and just before lunch Myrt excused herself to our back yard and while out there threw a butt into our fire pit (that was much too close to our house). Unknown to her, I had it ready to burn with wood, paper & kindling for our next evening by the fire. A short time later we were having lunch & out the window I noticed a white mist from time to time, but I didn't think much of it. Soon the mist became billowing smoke and with a quick glance outside I could see that our fire pit was fully engulfed in flames. We rushed out to extinguish the fire & all the while I was wondering how it started. Soon, with a mischievous smile Myrt explained what happened, and just as quickly she was on me to move my fire pit away from the house. It was a pleasure to be considered one of her friends, she was a dear person. Myrt, you will be missed. You were a treasure to all of us.
