Passed away quietly at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital on August 9, 2006 at the age of 70 years.

She was born on April 20, 1936 in Saskatoon, SK. Prior to retirement, Myrtle was employed as a stenographer with Northern Alberta Railway as well as a clerk with Kasper Labs in Edmonton.Myrtle had made a great many friends due to her involvement in the Eagles, Beta Sigma Phi, Quilting, Bridge and Genealogy. Her great sense of humour and fantastic story telling will be missed by many.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Donald Dent, sons Todd Dent and Rob (Caroline) Dent, daughter Sami Dent and 5 grandchildren. Also surviving her are brothers Ray Smith, Roy (Hedy) Smith, Jim (Marie) Thompson, sister Joan (Dave) Fleming as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Myrt's Life will be held at 1:00 pm on August 12, 2006 at McPherson Funeral Chapel, 2200 2nd St. South, Cranbrook, BC.

The family requests that donations in memory of Myrtle may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 565 West 10th Ave. Vancouver BC V5Z 4J4.
