I have worked with Rex Mallett, from a distance via telephone calls. It would be impossible for me to put to words the sincere sympathy I wish to express. Even dough I personally met him once, over the 15 years we worked together. I still remember his great smile and his humor when he called. His passing represents the loss not only of a co-worker, but also a friend. Will miss you Rex.

Rex, I find it so surreal to be writing this about you. The sadness that is felt around our/your branch has been deep and prolonged. You are much loved here Rex and most of us wish we had told you more often how much we loved having you a part of this great family. You are as much a part of the fibre here as anyone or anything in the place. Many of our clients and friends identified us by your spirit and joy of working here. They must have thought, "if Rex thinks it's a cool place to work then they all must be okay!" What will make us smile in getting through this and we know that is what you want, will be knowing that you are with the great Rastaman in the sky - you know who I mean. There are not very many people who lived their lives as they wanted every moment, but Rex you were one of the few who did it. I didn't know it at the time, but the smile and the hug I got from you a couple fo weeks ago when I last saw you will stay with me a long time. We will miss that devilish grin and that constant wondering that we all had that perhaps you knew something that we didn't. My thoughts are with all of you who loved Rex as I did. We have lost a brother.

I was very sadden to hear the loss of Rex and his spouse Monique. My thoughts are with you...Nicole Simoneau/Patterson Dental Montreal"What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget."

I feel a great sense of saddness, at the loss of our friends' Rex and Monique. My sincerest condolences to their daughter, family and friends. Geoff and I have fond memories of working, skiing, stampeding and of course the occassional get together on the patio. Rex always had a unique and simple spin on life and circumstances' that always made me laugh and feel a bit lighter. Not that long ago we were skiing in Kimberely and I said to my husband wouldn't it be funny if we ran into to Rex, and as we walked into the lodge who was sitting at the bar with a great smile and a beer in his hand, but my old friend Rex, what a great moment. Doing what he loved the best, skiing! Rex and Monique your time was short but your memory will live in our hearts forever. You will be sadly missed!
