It is with great sorrow that the family of Rex Arthur Mallett announce his passing on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 50 years of age in a tragic car accident.
Rex was a long time employee of Patterson Dental. He was the common-law husband of Monique Dubois who passed away in the accident with him. Rex and Monique loved the mountains, hiking, the outdoors and lived life to the fullest. Rex is survived by his step-daughter: Kya Jane Dubois age 17; mother: Belle Fiedler of Calgary, Alberta; sister: Rhonda McLaughlin of Oakville, Ontario; brother-in-law: Ken McLaughlin of Oakville, Ontario; nephews: Geoff and Chris McLaughlin of Oakville, Ontario; aunts: Yvonne Cuffe of Ottawa, Ontario, Shirley McMillan of Edmonton, Alberta and Dodie Goldstrom of Calgary, Alberta.
He was predeceased by his father Reg Mallett.
A memorial service and celebration of Rex and Monique's lives will be held at Key City Theatre in Cranbrook on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 1:00 pm. There will be a memorial service in Calgary, Alberta to be announced at a later date for those unable to travel to Cranbrook and attend the service on April 11, 2009. Memorial donations in honour of Rex can be made to the charity of your choosing.
