Such a terrible loss to lose Pa Scats - leaves a big hole in my heart and my deepest sympathy to Cathie, Barb, Kit & boys & Gerald & Linette & boys. Jim to me was many things - one of the most kind, caring, honest & humble individuals I've yet to know. Always giving & never wanting to take back. I always felt like a second daughter Love forever, Kay

We think those special people in our lives are always going to be there, and it is so devastating when they have to leave us. But all of the wonderful memories do come flooding back of years past and the fun we had with Uncle Jimmy. He was always a joy to be around and always brought a smile to my face. I will miss him terribly. Aunt Cathie, Gerald and Barb and your families, you are constantly in my thoughts and may all of your wonderful memories give you the strength to get through the next little while.Love Donna

I just found out about Jim's sudden passing, I'm so sorry for the loss you must all be feeling. I didn't know Jim all that well but I can tell you that I absolutely loved how he made me feel when I was around him. It was his gentleness, his contagious smile, and his easy going manner ... I just wanted to hug him every time he was near. There must be a long list of people Jim impacted that way.Barb, I can't imagine what you're going through, you seemed to have such a close and wonderful relationship with your dad. Having a special bond like that must be a comfort on one hand, yet make it so much more difficult on the other. I'm sure your family and friends are surrounding you with love and support, please know that I'm thinking of you. Roxanna

Cathie and family, We will dearly miss Jim. He was a friend and always a joy to be in the company of. I have pieces of Jim's handiwork throughout our community school and at home. There wasn't much he wouldn't take on with his woodworking skills. His "retirement" years were more opportunities to "work" at other things and play (golf) when the weather provided. On my last conversation with Jim, I asked if I could apprentice under him as he seemed to find the right balance in life. He laughed and said he didn't think so. He finished by saying he was off to Kimberley for the week and would drop by to see me when he got back. We will miss you Jim, your absence will diminish the richness that you have brought into my life just talking together. Ted
