1929 - 2013

Betty Jones, 83, passed away peacefully on February 8th, 2013. Betty was born in Atlin, B.C., and it was storied her mother travelled 60 miles by dogsled from Teslin to give birth to her. Her formative years were spent in both Teslin and in Vancouver where she went to boarding school. She met her husband Art, while he was in Teslin working on the Teslin bridge. They married on April 1st, 1955 and returned to Cranbrook where she raised her family. Betty was a great lover of the outdoors and you could often see her on the trails behind their home in Gold Creek either hiking or cross country skiing. She also was a great traveler and she and Art traveled to many places around the world. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Betty is survived by her daughter Heather (Stuart) Tobe, sons Evan (Wendy), Ian (Sherra); grandchildren Justin (Jayme), Lewis, Chelsey, Georgia, Jessica, Hali, Mason; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Art, son Barry, and sister Joyce.

The family wishes to thank Dr Wentworth, the staff at Joseph Creek Care Village and the private caregivers for their care during Betty's last years.
