Heather and family, my deepest condolences for your loss. I had met Bill through BC Hydro in Cranbrook. He was very thorough in conducting many of my local components at the electrical substations and generating stations in the area. His wealth of information and ability to explain the various components and how they operated was greatly appreciated. It was a pleasure to work with someone so passionate about safety in so many different aspects and seeing his true calling as a safety advocate. His compassion to assist friends and coworkers at any hour of the day and his schemes to help surprise someone is the type of friend Bill was to many. I will miss him laughing telling stories so vividly in such a short amount of time. His recollection of raising pigs in Hudson Hope with a friend. They thought it would be easy, even though he admitted the fence to keep the pigs in was a bit rickety. He laughingly recalling trying to control, chase and corral these con artists that were a lot smarter than he imagined. I will treasure the Billy the Eagle sticker and fondly recall him explaining the meaning behind it. The expression on his face was priceless when he first saw this image in Revelstoke blown up and posted on a shop door. Bill I hope you are soaring like an Eagle and finding some great fishing spots while keeping tabs on all your family and friends. Tawney Meiorin

Wow, I read Bill's obituary with disbelief!! His passing (far too young) is a huge loss to his family, friends and our community. Bill always had a "bounce" that demonstrated his spirit for life. My thoughts are with Heather and family, and his friends as they adjust to a life without Bill.
With sadness.

It is so difficult to understand why someone with a zest for life, full of laughter and care for family and others was taken so soon. Heather and family our heart hurts for this incredible loss of Bill. He was truly one of a kind and will be terribly missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Bill for many years and thru all the difficult and trying times he always remained a true friend. His passion for all things he did was remarkable. Also had the pleasure of living and working together for a short while in Calgary. We would run after work and that was not enough for Bill so he became a rickshaw runner (downtown Calgary) he had to rent the rickshaw but he always came home with extra cash, always with a smile on his face and some good stories to tell. We also travelled with our wives to Bloomsday run in Spokane and again many laughs and good times. My deepest sympathies to all the family, I will always cherish the memories.

I am absolutely saddened by the loss of Bill. About 2 weeks ago I was lucky to run in to him. We shared a hug, some laughter over our hunting mishaps way back when, and a chat about life. I cherish the memories I have of him and his kindness and positive attitude in life. I remember fondly a dinner at Heather and Bill's when I first met them when I was 15. I had braces then, and during the dinner when I bit in to my meal an elastic snapped off its mooring and flew across the table and hit Bill in the face. I was mortified, but the laughter and joking from Bill made it bearable. Over the years whenever I have run in to him it was always such an enjoyable chat and catch up. I will miss that dearly. Deepest condolences to Heather and family, I am so sorry for your loss.
