It is with sadness that the family of Garfield Joseph Amburg announces his passing on August 28, 2020. He passed peacefully at the Pioneer Lodge in Cranbrook.
Garfield was born in Vancouver, B.C., to Aldea & Joseph Amburg, and he spent his childhood in Richmond, B.C. Later Garfield moved away and settled in Cranbrook. He was a resident of Pioneer Lodge for 46 years; he loved his family and all the wonderful friends he made there. Despite his limitations Garfield always had a big smile, cheery hello, and a wave whenever he met people. Garfield enjoyed bowling and took part in the Special Olympics when he was younger.
Garfield was predeceased by his parents Aldea & Joseph and his sister Louine Beaudry.
He is survived by his caring family of Pioneer Lodge and by his sisters Elaine Beatch, Grace Brennan, brothers Mel and Eugene, many nieces, and nephews.
Garfield will be laid to rest in a private graveside service, at the Garden of Gethsemani Cemetery in Surrey, B.C.
