I went to high school with Norman and I counted him as one of my best friends. He was easily the most intelligent person I knew there. Norman showed me how mathematics works, and he had a great sense of humour. Even then he had a well developed sense of decency which showed itself in his lack of prejudice, his generosity and kindness.

I always enjoyed Norm's quiet ways and his compassion shown to me after my husband's passing. He truly was a wonderful family man and cared deeply for everyone.

My deepest condolences to the Norm's family. As a newly elected official two years ago, I enjoyed attending training and workshops where I was able to work in small groups with Norm.
