My deepest condolences to the Barre Family. Gerry was a kind person with a infectious laugh. I remember many fond memories during our golf trips and at the Arena. May Gerry’s memory be a blessing.

Gerry was my coach through midget and juvenile. I remember him as warm, soft-spoken and always ready with a big smile. He was an excellent instructor and motivator. Also a role model as a man with a young and growing family who donated his valuable time and knowledge to helping a cocky bunch of high school kids become a darn good hockey team. My dad also worked with our team and respected Gerry as a gentlemen and a friend. Gerry and Elia became life-long friends of my parents. Sincere condolences to Elia and the family.

Although I met Gerry through my parents, I remember many wonderful memories of laughter, jokes and all round smiles from spending time with he and Elia at the Kimberley Golf Course. When my dad was very ill Gerry brought some much needed sunshine with a special get together with my dad, mom, the Barre's and McNiven's. There is something about the breed of old hockey players that makes them super special. The nicknames of Kimberley are ever remembered with a special place of "Pea Soup" in my memories. To the Barre family we are so very touched by your loss. - Leigh and Donna Grainger
