Dear Linda and family, "Bonnie" here, Gina's cleaning lady. From the first time we met at the first house, I admired how you and Don worked so well together. We cleaned and both parents painted. When we cleaned the rental house, again everybody had a job. When they moved to their " forever home " you both were their to pack and clean the first home and help where ever needed. I so enjoyed having short visits with you when you were at Gina's. Bringing yet another plant for the house and planning where to go shopping to make the best of your time. Always positive and happy. You were very gracious to say a few words at the funeral. Yes, I did watch it. I Pray God grants you grace to know YOU were married to a wonderful man, father and grandfather as well as brother, friend and community worker and teacher all his life! God loved him! With warmest regards, Bonnie Reed-Scott

Don was one of those driving the big moving truck which arrived in Squamish, BC in the summer of 1984 to help move our family to Cranbrook when my father was called to the Cranbrook United Church. As the manse was too small for our family, and the Holts were vacationing that summer, they generously offered us their home to stay in while my folks hunted for a house.
Our families have been close ever since, and the news of his sudden passing was a devastating shock.
Our deepest condolences to friends and family. He was--quite simply--one of the best of us.

Linda and family,
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of the ceremony through livestream. Don was always someone we could count on to keep us focused on what was important in life. The teachers who were privileged to have worked beside Don and under his leadership in the Union, speak very highly of his sense of humour, his guidance and especially his laugh. We are all privileged to have known him. His leadership continued in the RTA for many years and under his leadership they RTA became a group of friends instead of just colleagues. Keep each other close. Shelley Balfour on behalf of the CDTA.

Although we didn't know Don really well, often Joseph and I would see him out and about around town, ever pleasant and smiling. How we came to know him a bit better was through his time on the EKCCU board events. His vibrant personality, his smile and laughter as well as his genuine delight in his volunteering is what we shall remember him by. Our community has lost a bright spark. Wishing his family Peace and forever fond memories of Don.
