1941 - 2021
Don passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, September 9, 2021, In Calgary, Alberta.
Donald George Holt was born in Biggar, Saskatchewan on April 6, 1941, to George and Alice Holt. He grew up helping his parents at Holt's Service Station in Monarchvale, Saskatchewan with his three younger siblings. As a young adult, Don trained to be a teacher and taught 9 years in Saskatchewan. After marrying his wife Linda, they moved to Cranbrook, British Columbia where they raised their two children, Gina, and Geoff. Don taught another 28 years in Cranbrook before his retirement which he enjoyed for 22 years. In his retirement, he traveled and dedicated himself to the community through volunteer work. He loved his friends, pets, gardening, camping, with his highlight being his family time and playing with his grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife Linda Holt, daughter Gina (Kurt) Hartman and grandchildren Shelby and Quinton, son Geoff Holt (Kim Sparks), brother Allan (Pat) Holt, brother Ross (Denise) Holt, sister Lorraine (Rene) deMoissac, brother-in-law Charlie May, sister-in-law Donna (Zbyg) Staszczak, brother-in-law Jim (Loretta) Long and many nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his parents Alice and George Holt, brother-in-law Bob (Joyce) Long, sister-in-law Beth May and niece Marlyss Long.

Internment will be held with family at the Fort Steele Cemetery.
