Obituary of Carol Marie Lance

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Marie Lance at the age of 66. Carol who was affectionately known as Nana, departed her loving family on June 4, 2023.

Carol was born in Cranbrook BC on April 5, 1957, to Herb and Betty Conroy. Carol was mother to Brandon (Liz) Tanner & Dale (Amber) Tanner. She raised her two boys as a single mother after the passing of her first husband, Dale Walter Tanner Sr. Always at her side was her loving twin, Cheryl (Hulla) McCormick and Cheryl’s two children, Justin (Katie) McCormick and Kaylyn Jensen. On February 14, 1998, Carol married her loving husband Barry Lance, and welcomed into her life her daughters Jenn (Sandy) MacDonald, Cassandra (Derek Janzen) Lance and Candice (Jon) Baken.

Carol’s life was spent in service to her family, friends, church and community. Her happiest moments were spending time with her husband, going on picnics, drives in the mountains or spending time with her grandchildren. All who knew Carol knew that she was unable to rest for too long. She was always busy cleaning, organizing or serving someone who needed her help or a meal. She lived by the motto “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.”

Carol is predeceased by her first husband Dale Tanner Sr., and her parents Herb and Betty Conroy. She is survived by her loving husband Barry Lance, her brothers, Jim (Donna) Conroy, Bud Conroy and sisters, Cheryl McCormick, Maureen (Dennis) Adamkewicz, Lorraine (late husband Ken) Lyster. Nana would want each of her grandchildren (Elyssa, Lance, Daxon, Kylee, Stella, Jordan, Velora, Lexie, Cohen, Grayson, Emma, Jayson and Carter) to know that she loves them in a circle.

Funeral services for Carol will be held Monday June 12, 2023 at 11:00 am in Cranbrook, BC at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 2210 2^nd St N.
