Leon Pommier, Age 86 passed away at East Kootenay Regional in Cranbrook B.C. On Sunday Sept.17, 2023. He was born on May 17, 1937 in Cranbrook B.C. to Emile Pommier and Marie (Cloarec) Pommier. Leon grew up and lived on a farm adjacent to Diorite Creek and the Lussier River. He continued to live in the Lussier River, Premier Lake area on his dream acreage he purchased in 1957 and later moved to Cranbrook in 2010. He was employed at various jobs in his younger years including the B.C. Parks Branch. Leon found steady employment at the Skookumchuck Pulp Mill 1971-1997 (Maintenance Dept.), Where he made many friends. Early on he liked nothing better than a good party where he could entertain, singing and playing some mean guitar. He liked to socialize with friends, relatives and neighbors the Simon family. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, photography and hunting in his early years. Leon was a good athlete, an outstanding Bronc Rider. Gramps, loved spending time with the apples of his eye, the grand kids. He is survived by his beloved wife Judi of 48 years, son Dan (Tanya) daughter Jacquie (Tom) and grand children Brett, Nicole, Owen and sister Marie . He was predeceased by his first wife Sharon (McArthur) son Brian parents Emile and Marie and seven brothers George, Maurice, Louis, Marcel, Henry, John and Ernie. On Friday Sept. 29th a memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon at McPherson Funeral Chapel 2200-2nd St. South Cranbrook B.C. the family will greet friends and extended family after the service. Luncheon provided. In lieu of flowers donations to SPCA in Cranbrook, B.C.
