Obituary of Joel David Cochrane
Please share a memory of Joel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Words cannot begin to express the profound grief and sadness that we feel for the sudden loss of our beautiful son Joel. He was a gifted
writer, accomplished musician and skilled artisan who could work magic with any type of wood. Joel had a wicked sense of humour and could
captivate a room with his brilliant one liners and flawless voice impressions.
Joel grew up in Calgary, but more recently moved to the beautiful mountains of Kimberley BC where he immersed himself in his favorite pastimes hunting, fishing, hiking, and swimming the colder the water, the better! For Joel, time was far, far beyond one dimensional. He was a traveler, not a tourist. He was a performer, not a spectator. His compassion for others was immense and he was a true and loyal friend.
Joel is survived by his parents Cathy and Paul Cochrane and his grandmothers Margaret Swann and Phyllis Cochrane. He was adored by his aunts, uncles, cousins and their children, and his many other relatives. Joel was predeceased by his grandfathers Gordon Swann and Bill Cochrane and his uncle James Cochrane.
A celebration of Joel's life will take place on Saturday, June 15 at the Lakeview Community Association from 2:00 4:00 pm. 6110 34 St. SW Calgary AB.
