Doris Valin

April 22, 1942 - September 25, 2024

 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, nana and aunty on September 25^th, 2024.

 

We lost Doris to Pancreatic cancer and she chose to use MAiD in the company of her much loved Nieces, Irene & Donna.

 

Doris was born in Creston, BC and lived most of her life in the Kootenays.

 

Doris worked her whole life and in the last 13 years before retirement as a Dietary Aide at the Cranbrook Regional Hospital. Doris not only raised her two children, Kim and Blaine but she also helped raise her two Grandsons Shawn and Leonard for 7 years. Doris loved her family.

 

Dale and Doris travelled a lot after retirement and she especially loved Hawaii.

 

Doris is survived by her loving husband Dale, her two children Kim (Alden) and Blaine (Toni), her Grandchildren Dustin (Sara), Leonard and Coulter as well as her many Great Grandchildren and many other extended family members who were all important to her.

 

Doris was predeceased by her Sisters Sylvia, Frances and Rose and her Brother Johnny and her Grandson Shawn as well as her Parents Joseph and Vera Kollman.

 

In keeping with Doris’ wishes, she will be cremated and her Urn laid to rest in the Westlawn Cemetery in Cranbrook BC.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.

Doris was truly loved and will be forever missed by her family and friends.
