Obituary of Janet Johansen
Janet decided to join her loving husband, Carl, for his birthday on Dec. 9th. Only this love could bring them together as Janet has survived many health obstacles throughout the last years of her life.
Janet was born in Penticton and grew up in Cranbrook where she met Carl and moved to Kimberley where they started their family.
Janet’s strength and love are evident in how she lived her life. She prioritized her family first and ensuring music, spirituality and love were always present.
Janet loved to play the guitar, piano and accordion and spent many hours reading books & baking for her family. She also loved the many camping trips and holidays with her children and later in life the trips spent with Carl going to Mexico, Arizona, Hawaii, Alaska and the many family reunions they traveled to attend.
She took pride in her appearance (and the jewelry Carl always bought her) and loved socializing with friends. Janet was also a member of the Kimberley Legion, and the Cranbrook Eagles.
Janet is survived by her 4 children – Trevor (Sandra), Patty (Bob), Ted, Chris (Nuala). Her grandchildren, Aimee, Justin, Khris, Dustin, Logan & Annika. 10 Great Grandchildren – Emily, Gracie, Allie, Bella, Owen, Ethan, Garret, Addison, Blake and Paisley. And one Great-great Grandson – Colter.
Janet is also survived by her sister Shirley Jirik & brother Andy Anderson (Laraine).
Janet was predeceased by her husband Carl and her brother Jim.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Pines for all the care she received during her stay.
The family would like to invite all family and friends to Janet’s funeral service, Tuesday December 17, 2024, 11 am at the McPherson Funeral Home, 1885 Warren Ave. Kimberley BC, with reception to follow.
