Obituary of Colin Mallard

Please share a memory of Colin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of Colin Daniel Mallard on January 11th, 2025.

Colin blessed our family with his presence on August 24th, 1994. Colin's greatest loves were his family, friends, WWE wrestling, and hockey. In his younger years you could catch him at the rink cheering on his older sister Jen, and younger brother Rory. This spectating gave Colin the skills to become the only coach that the Cranbrook Oldtimers Hockey League has ever seen. I think Colin knew our Dad needed some guidance out there. And we may be biased, but he was the best; even received an award for “Coach of the year”. Colin lived life to the absolute fullest. He had the ability to light up every room he was in, but his true gift was to see everyone as an equal. Thank you for leaving that legacy Colin, we promise to keep it going. No judgement, just love.

Colin was predeceased by his Grandpas - Stanley Schock and Donald Mallard, cousin Brant Mallard, & "Uncle" Tim Fennessy.

Colin will be lovingly remembered & sadly missed by his parents Roxanne and Jordan “Jig”, sister Caitlin (Brandon) Pighin, sister Jen  (Brent) Scarff and brother Rory(Kara),  Mallard, nieces and nephews Lexyss Pighin, Chet Pighin, Weston Pighin, Halle Scarff, Lainey Scarff, Rhett Scarff, Bentley Mallard, Colt Mallard, & Sadie Mallard; Grandmas Nori Mallard & Sharon Schock; Auntie Rhonda & Uncle Jeff Mossop, Uncle Kevin Schock, Uncle Jason & Auntie Linnea Mallard, Uncle Jess Mallard, and Auntie Alana Atwood; cousins Jaron, Jaylin, Brenna, Landis, Maddi, Ryan, Jacob, Jordan, Alyssa, Keira, and Danica; and many great aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Colin's name can be made to the Down Syndrome Society of British Columbia.
