I was shocked and saddened by the news of Mike's passing. I will always remember the times we jammed and all the times we just talked about music and life and all his ideas he'd throw at me over coffee. Unfortunately I was not back in town from working in time to be at his service, so I leave these words and my sympathy to all of Mike's family and friends.

Hi, I consider Michael Woods my friend, fellow poet and independent thinker. I'm sad to hear of his untimely death and the loss of his talents in the world. After not seeing him for a long time, I had the good fortune to run into him recently and we both talked about what a tight squeeze it is for us as artist/poets to live in Cranbrook. I regret I will be unable to be at the service due to being out of town on Saturday at a family wedding. My sympathy to Susan, Chris and all Michael's family and friends for their loss. I believe that Michael is in the embrace of unimaginable love - our true home. ManWoman

Michael's loss is one so many of us share. He was indeed a man of words and music. Talking to him was always a delight, as was watching his pranks off the diving board with the rest of his family and a wide collection of friends from Moyie and away. For me and my family, particularly Allan, I offer our condolences and best wishes to those he left behind. Anne Edwards.
