I met Ione while working together at the hospital. She was always a pleasant and cheerful co worker - fun and good to be with.
In the past few years I saw Ione occasionally at the hospital lab.
So my wish for her family is that they will be able to find comfort for their souls and peace in their hearts through their many good memories.

I first met Ione when I moved onto Pocha road back in the seventies. She was always such a happy person and never seemed to get angry. We only ever seen each other when I happened to run into her at a Pocha function and she was always supportive of me and the decisions I made throughout my life. I never got to know her husband and kids but know she loved them so much!!!! I'm so sorry for the loss you are all feeling and will feel for the rest of your lives!! we have lost a amazing, wonderful, happy person and she will be dearly missed.

First met Ione when she came to work at the Hospital. In 1989 I had the honor and privilege of having Ione come and share the Payroll duties with me. We worked hard and laughed hard together in a very small office. Ione was always positive, hardworking, and happy. She always took the hight road and saw the brighter side of life. Ione loved
Dave, Stephen, Anna and all her family with all her heart. They came first. She shared
many speical pictures and stories with me. We have kept in touch over the past 10 years,
since I have been retired, always with a few catch up stories and belly laughs.. My last
conversation was with Ione was on her 50th birthday July 12, 2011 and as unwell as she was she still had her sparkle and positiveness. I will miss you Ione, but thanks for the many great memories. I am certain that you have given all your family and friends many
great memories. Farwell Ione, my friend and work mate. God Bless, Dave. Stephen,
Anna and all your family.

You were always there for everyone, always singing and laughing. You sang at every family members wedding since I was a little girl. Even my moms if I remember. You even sang at my Nanas memorial last June. It was great seeing you. You always had a bright glow around you, it was contagious. It was hard to be in a grumpy or sad mood. You had a way of lifting a persons spirit instantly. You will be greatly miss cousin Ione.Your life will be celebrated by all. it will be cherished and remembered for the amazing woman you were, are, and always will be. I love you Ione. Could you let my Nana know I love her and miss her, when you find her in heaven xoxo?

God's comfort to all of you who are grieving today.
Pat and I wanted to be with you in the service but distance and time did not make it possible.
Can one put in a few sentences to describe the radiant life of Ione Clark? That would be impossible. We remember her radiant personality, the joyful life she demonstrated. Her infectious laugh that brought life and joy to any situation was so appreciated.
We will miss Ione in this lifetime but we know that we will rejoice with her for eternity. We extend our deepest sympathy to you Dave, Anna and Steve also Lornel, Florie, Connie and families represented.
Love Pastor Nils and Pat Leksen

My first memories of Ione are when she worked in payroll with Shirley. Those were the days when it only took two dedicated people to get your paycheck right. Ione was a wonderful person and has left those who knew her with wonderful memories. She always had a smile on her face even when she was suffering from the fatigue caused by her illness. She won't be forgotten and I will remember her every Christmas when I don my beautiful vest and tie. Farewell Ione. You are greatly missed.

Ione and I went to Sunday school together as little girls and then renewed our friendship a few years ago after running into each other again. Ione's Dad, Lornel, graciously and generously picked myself and my siblings up each Sunday and brought us to church with them, he never missed a week.
As a little girl Ione had the warmest and friendliest face with her great shining eyes and she always was on the brink of breaking out into a smile. That never changed right up into adult hood, she remained a happy, good natured and funny person. Even though the illness took so much away from her she remained that same beautiful bright person, even on her hardest days. Everytime we talked, right up until a week before her passing, most of our conversations were filled with our laughter and joking, Ione had a wonderful sense of humour. Of course there was the sharing of information, the latest test results and day to day struggles she endured and the frustrations of being sick and the long wait for her surgery date but Ione always remained positive and upbeat. She often talked about the possibility of her not making it to the transplant stage but even then she did do with tremendous courage, dignity and her natural Grace.
Ione's strength of character showed through in every situation and was something I greatly admired. She had the funniest little sayings and she always delighted me with the way she would "turn a phrase". It brings a smile to my face just recalling some of her cuter expressions; if she was really frustrated with someone Ione would say she had to "part their hair" or something equally witty, she was never vulgar and I never heard her use profanities, she was always a lady that way. She was patient and loving and showed great insight and understanding for anyone that needed to talk. Ione was a genuinely good and kind person.
Ione, like so many in her family, was gifted with an angels voice. She was so happy to be able to sing in her church concert this past Christmas and to combine her deep love for God with her love for music. She was happy to have had enough breath and air to sing a verse of the song, to sing for God she said. I can picture her singing for God in heaven now.
Ione often shared her children's latest accomplishments and she was deeply proud and felt very blessed to have both Stephen and Anna in her life. Her love for them was evident every time she mentioned their names.
It was an honour to be Ione's friend and she is deeply missed.
Goodbye my friend. I love you.
Wendy
