George and Family: We are so sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. We didn't hear about it until yesterday, Dec. 23. We have very fond memories of Ruth. Her kindness, her friendliness, and her complete joy in God and life. We remember her large family and the huge table and her pleasure in serving others. We appreciate the ministry that we received every time we visited. George, we think of you often. May the Lord comfort you and your family in knowing that she no longer suffers the pain of this life and that you will see her again. Our prayers go out to you all. I can attest to the same. I met Ruth just the once when we (her nephew Trevor and I) visited Cranbrook around our first anniversary and phoned to see when or if we could stop by. The next thing I knew we were there for a meal. She made me feel so welcome and at relaxed. I'll always remember her smile and the way she effortlessly cubed a pear in the palm of her hand as she stood at the sink, looked at us or out at the yard, and told stories of her youth. She could have been a caterer--and kind of was in her own house from what I hear. She didn't appear to ever do anything part way. The Niles have shared nothing but compliments of Ruth. Our sincere condolences on your loss. We rejoice that we will see her again, one day! We will continue praying for the Lord's comfort. Patricia and Trevor Niles

Ruths gift of hospitality was unsurpassed you always felt welcome when you went to her house. She had a beautiful singing voice she could harmonize so well. A great cook you would never go away hungry.
