My deepest condolences to Frank's family. We lost a good human being, a generous enthusiastic cheerful and a happy man. His unique nurturing character and passion for good quality/quantity food and his attention to the details brought me back to his restaurant every time I was in Cranbrook on business. I was deeply saddened to hear about Frank's passing. I just can not believe it! I remember his last conversation with me at the restaurant on December 17, 2011 that he was planning to go to Arizona for the holidays. He told me that he did not like to go on "vacation" as the best vacation for him was to go back in the kitchen and do what he loved to do the most. He was so passionate and enthusiastic about food and the result was stunning every time I went back to his restaurant, all tables full and if I did not have reservation, I could not get in! I will miss him greatly.

I was saddened to hear of Franks passing , Frank was a kind good hearted man who I had a deep repect for .Our families thoughts are with the rest of the family and you are in our prayers.
As a young adult I had the privilege to be given the opportunity to partner with Frank and Eva in Family Meats and Deli in Nelson BC , with my Dad - Malcolm.
Frank mentored me like a son and was always there with Eva for support. This was a life learning time and great memories of Frank, with him always wanting a "snack of plain bread and sausage" at my deli. Frank had natural skills you couldnt be taught elsewhere and he was a Master Sausage maker
You will never meet a man with as good of character, ethic and family values as Frank he was a smart business man and Dad.
I will miss him ..

When we think of Frank we think of him taking time to sit with us in the restaurant telling us one of his favorite jokes. He always had one for us. And at the end of our visit with him, he would treat us to a special drink. We raise our glass to Frank. He will be missed. Ron & Pierrette Pelletier

We will never, ever forget Frank. I recall moving here in the late '80's and looking for a good deli...I found a great one and one of the most marvelous men I have ever met. Never without a smile and a little something for when my boys were with me. Even up to a few weeks ago with my grandchild, he gave her a bowl of her favorite ice cream. While we were in business, Frank was always a leader. There is a special place in Heaven for him and we know he will forever look upon his family and be their guardian angel. Papa Frank... No words can decribe what I wish to say. No words can decribe how truly unique you were. With every person you've met you've always left them with a smile. Whether it was that warm loving hug, or a caring handshake, you always made everyone feel welcome. Every memory will never be forgotten but only enhanced and cherished forever because you aren't gone forever, you've only moved onto the next life. Wishing I could have been there to say a last goodbye... I guess Heaven needs an amazing cook and a loving, caring angel up there to watch over us... This isn't goodbye but an "I'll see you soon" because someday will meet again. You better be waiting for lots of hugs from all of us... I'll always miss you.. Love you Papa Frank...

Like everyone who met Frank, our friendship started with a Handshake. It was one of his many trademarks and those who were lucky enough to be greeted with one will never forget the size of his hands, the strength and the comfort he gave. He definately had the time of day for anyone and was always concerned about how others were doing and would rarely if ever talk about himself. Throughout the years the Handshakes turned into a nice manly hug for me and I can hear Frank as plain as day saying " Mikey! " ( Frank is the only guy that could call me that and me not mind haha) . Frank showed us all how Hard Work pays off, how you get out of anything what you put in and how to do it RIGHT. In Buisiness and in Family Frank did it RIGHT. I've always admired the Love , Hard Work and Dedication that Frank and his Family personify in everything they do.
Thanks Franki for so much and My Heart goes out to a Family that has made me believe that Family is all we really have and is Stronger when it is Together.

We will always cherish how genuine his hugs were. I will always remember the day he took my hands in his, looks me square in the eyes and gave me advice that I will hang on to for my lifetime. We have known Frank since he ran the butcher shop on Cranbrook Street, I used to look forward to seeing his happy face when I stopped in to pick up one of his specialties. Our most recent memory of Frank is from last Friday evening, we were having dinner when Frank joined us at our table where we enjoyed a 15 mninute chat with him. He was excited about the future, the house in Arizona, travelling, Frank shared with us his deep pride for his family and words of wisdom about life. He left us with hugs and smiles and a warm feeling of friendship.
Frank, you have left an impression in our hearts, your hospitality and positive spirit have been and will remain an inspiration to us. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Frank has been a part of our lives for what seems like forever. His compassion and ability to express authentic and genuine love will remain in our hearts and minds always. There was never a time when we saw him that we weren't embraced, in every way possible, with his love. Just the way that he would take and shake your hand and then wrap his other hand around yours so that you were completely surrounded in his care...there is no other experience like it. We were safe and loved.
Frank's loyalty, love, and generous spirit will never be forgotten. We will miss him always, but what he has left with us are lessons in love and life, and that will remain forever.

In ceprav si odšel dalec v neznano, ostajaš z nami v naših spominih in v naših srcih. Za to bodo gotovo vsak dan najbolje skrbele tvoje ljube punce - žena Ivica, hcerka Nataša z možem in hcerka Andreja z možem in sinom.

I appreciate all the things you have done for me and the inspiration you have given me to be a better person and a hard worker. Frank was probably the kindest and most generous person I ever had the pleasure of calling my friend. While being stationed in Cranbrook for 15 years with the RCMP , Frank took care of my "hobby farm" needs by ensuring that I always had ample "scraps" for my pigs. I know that I was the envy of all my co-workers as I was looked after on most of my night shifts with Franks piping hot prime rib "bun-wiches". But much more than this , he was a true friend. He had that special ability to make you feel good when you were around him , a quality hard to find these days. The world was a much better place with "big" Frank in it !! P.S. Please take care of my Margo up there .

Frank had the biggest smile, laughter and hugs for everyone. He made you feel special and as if you were the only people in the room and this made Frank a rare breed. If you knew Frank personally you understand what a true friend he was and how lucky we were in our lives to have known him. For some of us we didn't see each other for years and yet when we reconnected it was as if we never missed a beat. The days we spent together peeling potatoes and making sausage and just chatting, visiting will be cherished. The jokes and laughter we had will always be fresh in our minds and hearts. We will meet one day again and his arms will be open with the same jovial hug. Frank will be truly missed by all but most by his loved ones. Our thoughts and our prayers are with the family through this very difficult time. Doug & Kathy Strom

This is from way back in the mid eighties, when Frank and Iva lived beside us and I was working evening shifts at my job, getting home at 11:00 PM. I'd look so forward to the summer months, pulling into our driveway after my shift, and looking up from my vehicle to their sundeck...on a good night I'd hear "Hellloooo 'der" and Frank would be outside with coffee, along with my husband, and Iva. We'd sit out in the warm summer night and I'd enjoy a cup of Frank's excellent coffee, and Iva's magical baking, and Frank taught me to NEVER use Coffee Mate. When I think of Frank, I think of those evenings and his boisterous laugh...he was always laughing, and we will miss that so very much. He was a rare and marvelous man and will be deeply missed.
