Obituary of Frank Matjaz

1946 - 2012

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Frank Matjaz announce his sudden passing on January 9, 2012 at 1:30 am at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook at 65 years of age.

Frank was born on May 30, 1946 in Ravne Na Koroskem, Slovenia and was known for his huge warm hugs, his smiles and his love for family and friends.

Frank always had a hug for everyone.

He will be missed very much.

We love him dearly.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Ivanka, his two daughters Natasha (Mike) Westerhoud, Andreja (Bob) Scanland, his grandson Bowe, his sisters Anica Hrovatic and her family, Frida Cernov and her family, Cita Jurovic and her family, Judita Svab and her family, Grama Joan Jeffries, many nieces and nephews, and his very close coffee friends.

Prayers for Frank will be held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 7:00 pm. His funeral mass will be held at Christ The Servant Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 1:00 pm. His Interment will be in Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of Frank may do so to the: Canadian Cancer Society, 19 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2L9.

During this difficult time of the loss of Frank Matjaz, loving husband, father, Opa and friend, we would like to thank everyone for your love, your support, your prayers, flowers and food.

We would like to also thank family who travelled from Ontario, and Quebec. Friends from Alberta, Arizona, and from all over B.C. Your support is so very appreciated.
